Aujourd’hui sont réunis autour du maire de Montréal, Monsieur Denis Coderre, et de Manon Gauthier, membre du comité exécutif de la Ville, responsable de la culture, du patrimoine, du design, d’Espace pour la vie et du statut de la femme, de nombreux acteurs culturels pour présenter des expériences inspirantes réalisées sur le territoire montréalais et apporter leur soutien à la Déclaration Montréal engagée pour la culture.

En affirmant que les citoyens sont les principaux acteurs du visage de la scène culturelle locale et sont garants de la vie culturelle d’une métropole dynamique et forte, Montréal est reconnue pour son engagement. Depuis 2014, elle a notamment participé activement à la définition de l’Agenda 21 de la culture de Cités et Gouvernements Locaux Unis (CGLU), dans lequel de nouveaux principes ont été avancés. Ceux-ci mettent l’accent sur les enjeux culturels dans un contexte de développement durable des villes et visent à réinventer le développement local par la culture.

Et puisque "Donner accès à la culture et au savoir, c'est reconnaître des êtres pensants qui valent la peine, qui sont des citoyens à part entière", Exeko s'inspire des propos de Julien, participant à un atelier littéraire idAction @Plein Milieu, en signant cette déclaration et en reconnaissant l’engagement de Montréal pour une ville qui favorise l’inclusion de tous.

Au cours de cette journée d’échanges et de rencontres, Nadia Duguay, cofondatrice et co-directrice d’Exeko, introduira en quoi nos pratiques innovantes, au croisement de la médiation culturelle et de la médiation intellectuelle, agissent comme moteur de transformation sociale. En complémentarité des ressources existantes et en développant des approches personnalisées par secteur, nos programmes initient des ponts d’accessibilité et des zones de rencontres au savoir et à la culture, par une approche créative (pensée et acte créatif).

 

"La différence entre l'impressionnisme et l'art abstrait est analogue à la différence entre un bruit et un son. Faites entendre à quelqu'un un bruit, puis un son, et cette personne pourra vous dire "ceci était un bruit, ceci était un son". Placez quelqu'un devant une œuvre impressionniste, et elle vous dira "ceci est une œuvre impressionniste"; placez-la devant une œuvre d'art abstrait, et elle pourra vous dire "ceci est de l'art abstrait". Ce n'est pas une affaire de jugement. Ce n'est pas une affaire de bien ou de mal. C'est une affaire de "ah! Ça j'aime ça" ou de "ah! Ça je n'aime pas".
