It has now been more than six weeks since we began to experience this unprecedented health and human crisis, and we are coping with the urgency of today and the uncertainty of tomorrow. Les nouveaux hébergements d’urgence mis en place par la Ville de Montréal étant déjà à pleine capacité, les personnes en situation d’itinérance à Montréal lèvent des campements afin d’implanter au mieux possible les mesures d’isolation. Indigenous Support Workers Project: a prevention project for indigenous people experiencing homelessness in Montreal

Founded more than a year ago, this project takes place through the daily presence of two street workers who fill service gaps for the Indigenous population at risk or in precarious situations in the Plateau Mont-Royal district. With a regular schedule and culturally adapted approach, they also play a decisive and significant role in identifying and planning required actions thanks to their position of trust and direct contact with people experiencing homelessness....[read more on our blog]

Drop-in day centres for homeless people in Montreal

We have been collaborating for a few weeks with the City of Montreal to open safe rest areas that offer, 7 days a week, respite for people experiencing homelessness (with all the necessary security measures). Respite areas therefore provide a space to rest for those most vulnerable to the crisis, while respecting the safety and hygiene measures that are particularly essential for those most at risk of contracting the virus..[read more on our blog]

Multimedia content to develop skills as part of the Esuma Nunavik Community Empowerment Program (ENCEP)

As our activities are suspended in Nunavik in their original format, we maintain a virtual collaboration with ESUMA, KRG, the AKUK and the participants of the Hubs. At the request of our collaborators on site, we are testing, in a video capsule format, sharing of knowledge and tools already initiated with young leaders and organizations from Kangiqsualujjuaq communities (cradle of the Esuma Nunavik Community Empowerment Program which gave birth to the Akuk Hub) and Kuujjuarapik. We will talk about animation techniques, dialogue, workshops, etc. in order to continue the very beautiful exchanges implemented since the past few years. [read more on our blog]
