Salle comble pour Trickster@MTL!

Mercredi dernier se tenait au Centre d'amitié Autochtone de Montréal la soirée de clôture de Trickster@MTL après trois mois de création de décors, costumes, de mise en scène, de créations sonores et d'appréhension du théâtre avec notre petit groupe de jeunes Autochtones de Montréal. Nos jeunes artistes étaient aussi excités que nous à mesure que l'ouverture des portes se faisait sentir.

Les fonds de scène montés, lumières prêtes, les dessins et photos des jeunes recueillis depuis l'automne comme hall d'entrée chronologique, nous pouvions recevoir notre public déjà impatient.

Ce sont plus de 275 personnes qui auront franchi la porte du Centre d'amitié ce soir là: partenaires enjoués, parents et amis impatients, représentants gouvernementaux, artistes curieux, Autochtones citadins, participants en situation d'itinérance...tous ont répondu présent à cette première rencontre urbaine "Exekienne" avec la culture Autochtone.

La soirée a commencé au rythme du Tambour inter-tribal du Centre d'amitié autochtone de Montréal alors que les bouchées d'orignal, bannique et autres veloutés de butternut de Joey Saganash, notre chef cuisinier (qui est aussi intervenant au CAAM), ravissaient les palais d'une salle déjà comble.

Alors que les jeunes terminaient les derniers préparatifs de costumes, ont suivi une impressionnante prestation de chants de gorge par Nina Segalowitz et Taqralik Partridge et une démonstration acclamée du jeune rappeur Joey Shaw.

Enfin nos jeunes artistes ont envahi l'espace.
Esprit du vent, courage, respect de la nature, partage...ce sont des contes tout en poésie que les enfants ont interprétés.

Et c'est sous une pluie d'applaudissements que nos jeunes artistes sont ressortis heureux et fiers d'avoir participé à ce projet. Un grand bravo à ces participants pour leurs superbes performances.
