C'est lors de l'un des premiers trajets d'idAction Mobile que nous avons rencontré Joel, Attikamek en escale au Projets Autochtones du Québec (PACQ), refuge qui accueillent les Autochtones sans domicile fixe à Montréal. 
Depuis plus d'un an, Joel a rejoint l'équipe d'Exeko comme consultant en vulgarisation sur un groupe de recherche universitaire et comme panéliste à Philopolis, comme bénévole sur nos projets pour les jeunes autochtones ou pour les personnes stigmatisées comme ayant une déficience intellectuelle, au bureau pour trier les centaines de livres que l'on nous offre, ou comme assistant improvisé pour Stéphane Dionne, notre artiste en résidence pour Métissage Urbain.

Joel et sa vivacité sans faille se sont joints à nos événements de culture inclusive et ont assisté à des représentations théâtre et danse pendant le Festival Trans-Amériques, des expositions d'art visuel, se sont installés sur les bancs de l'École d'été de l'INM, ou au Festival International de Littérature...

Et Joel repart maintenant pour ses contrées natales, nous laissant plein d'admiration et de respect pour son implication et sa bonne humeur inébranlable !

"D’abord rencontré à PAQ avec la camionnette idAction Mobile, Exeko m’a invité à travailler sur une recherche avec des universitaires. 

 

La première fois quand je suis arrivé, les gens s’attendaient à quelqu’un avec de la barbe et ils ont été surpris de mon allure...
 
La recherche m’a donné des choix à faire,  trouver des solutions pour l’avenir, m’associer au monde qui travaillent avec les personnes en itinérance ....
J’ai aimé travailler avec la gang qui est allée aux études, voir que des gens s’intéressent à nous, à l’itinérance....

Exeko nous fait voir le monde autrement, ça nous fait changer d’idée, ça change de la routine  .... On fait de la philosophie sans le savoir.
 
Les personnes qui travaillent pour Exeko sont vraiment une grosse famille, genre des sœurs et des frères... Quand je suis arrivé à Montréal on ne m'avait pas dit que je connaîtrais des personnes trop gentilles pour le monde des SDF (personnes en situation d'itinérance)....
 
Le travail que j'ai fait pour vous m'a fait du bien, me sentir vraiment important, et à vos yeux, parce qu'il n'y avait pas de journées faciles ....
Une des grosses étapes de ma vie a été de vivre dans la belle ville de Montréal , je me souviens d'avoir eu hâte de voir votre belle idAction Mobile à chaque soir !
 
 
Merci vraiment du fond du coeur....Vous portez la « bonne nouvelle » et je serai toujours là pour vous... "
