D'UN OEIL DIFFÉRENT

A multidisciplinary cultural event gathering more than 200 artists stigmatized as having an intellectual disability

After many years of exciting collaboration and a succesful 9th edition, Exeko withdraws from D'un oeil différent. We wish this inter-recognition festival success for the years to come! Exeko continues its work for the inclusion of artists with special needs through its own project Tandem Créatif

D'un oeil différent is a unique annual cultural event which gathers more than 200 artists with or without special needs around a visual arts exhibit, including an exhibition opening and a closing ceremony. Furthermore, the program includes a forum on the role of intellectually impaired artists, artistic workshops, a play and other artistic performances.

The event is the fruit of a partnership between four cultural organizations that help people with intellectual impairments: the Association de Montréal pour la Déficience Intellectuelle (AMDI), the Centre de Réadaptations en Déficience Intellectuelle et en Troubles Envahissants du Développement (CRDITED), Exeko and La Gang à Rambrou.

The 9th edition took place in March 2014 for 2 weeks at the Écomusée de Fier Monde of Montreal, during the Quebec intellectual disability week. D'un œil différent grows each year in Montreal's cultural life as a community event which fosters public dialogue on the role of intellectually impaired artists and builds bridges between artists of all backgrounds. Furthermore, it raises awareness in the public and cultural community of their talent, potential and position in society.

New additions will be made to ensure an even more inclusive, empowering and inspiring event.
